Usually on weekends, when we have free time, we make delicious pastries for our family: pies, pies, and also indulge them with unusual dishes. These unusual dishes, which are always very pleasant to cook, and even more delicious to eat with the family, include potato pies. Agree, you do not cook this often. But sometimes I think you can treat yourself and make unusual pies, the basis for which is prepared from our second bread - potatoes. Today my sister Ekaterina pampers us with this delicious pastry.

Would need:

  • Lean pork - 500 gr.

How to cook potato pies with meat:

We pass the meat through a meat grinder, salt and pepper to taste. Add vegetable oil to the pan and fry the minced meat until tender with the addition of chopped onion. Separately, boil the potatoes, adding a little salt to the water and make dry (cool) mashed potatoes. In puree, add butter, spices to taste and flour. The main thing is that the flour must be mixed into the potato dough evenly to prevent the formation of lumps. The potato base should be smooth. From the cooled potato dough we make blanks, the size of a palm. In the middle of the tortillas we put the cooled minced meat and form pies.

As soon as all the pies are ready, put them in a hot frying pan with vegetable oil and fry on both sides until a beautiful golden crust appears.

How to cook potato dough for pies in a pan

Peel and wash potatoes.

Crush the dry potatoes with a potato masher into a puree.


Allow the mashed potatoes to cool slightly, then beat in the chicken egg, add a pinch of salt and add the flour one tablespoon at a time.

Mix well and add 1 tablespoon of flour again, and so on until all the flour is gone.

Mix the potato dough well and you can form pies. The dough will be slightly sticky to your hands, this is normal, you do not need to hammer it heavily with flour. To form pies, you just need to sprinkle your hands with flour, and it will not stick to them at all. While the potatoes are languishing, let's take care of the onion, another important component of the filling. We fry the onion well in vegetable oil, it turns out we have golden and fragrant. You do not need to fry it for a long time so that it does not burn.

  11. We do not forget to heat the oven to about 180 degrees and after that we send a baking sheet with pies into it. Baking pies with potatoes in the oven will be about 15 minutes.
