People who have problems with the pancreas often have to give up many foods that are strictly prohibited in a disease such as pancreatitis. In order not to bring the disease to an aggravation, especially the chronic form of pancreatitis, one should adhere to a special diet - “table 5P”.

Patients with pancreatitis should completely exclude the use of alcoholic beverages and drugs with contraindications in this area.

What vegetables can you eat with pancreatitis?

The most optimal vegetables that are used without restrictions for pancreatitis are boiled and baked potatoes, fresh carrots, zucchini and pumpkin, as well as cauliflower and beets.

These vegetables are especially safe to eat boiled, stewed or steamed, but fried vegetables are especially harmful, so it is recommended to completely eliminate the use of all fried foods.

  • spinach;
  • garlic;

1. Cabbage for pancreatitis

In heat treatment, this cabbage is completely safe. Boiled and stewed, you can safely eat broccoli.

Any cabbage, people with pancreatitis disease, should be gradually introduced into their diet. Be sure to avoid fried cabbage!

2. Tomatoes for pancreatitis

These vegetables can be consumed with a diagnosis of pancreatitis, but in certain cases. In no case is it recommended to use fresh tomatoes or juice from them during an exacerbation of the disease. This vegetable is a strong choleretic agent, therefore, at times of acute attacks, the influx of bile can cause very dangerous consequences. During the period of remission, when there are no attacks of acute pain, swelling and other signs of the inflammatory process, you can and should eat tomatoes. Fresh squeezed tomato juice is especially useful. This vegetable contains a large amount of healthy fiber, which perfectly removes cholesterol from the body and has a beneficial effect on the normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. Baked and stewed tomatoes are very useful. But unripe tomatoes are extremely dangerous to use, as they contain a lot of harmful toxins. Tomatoes, like any other food, should be consumed in moderation so as not to complicate the work of the pancreas.

3. Cucumbers for pancreatitis

This vegetable has a high water content, but it still contains many vitamins and useful elements. Therefore, cucumbers with a diagnosis of pancreatitis are completely allowed to be consumed in your diet. They contribute to the good functioning of the pancreas and stop the process of exacerbation of the disease. There is a special cucumber diet: daily, during the week, it is good to consume one kilogram of fresh cucumbers. They perfectly unload the pancreas and help prevent exacerbations of the disease. But they also should not be eaten too much and often. All foods need to be consumed to some extent. And be extra careful when choosing cucumbers to rule out the possibility of eating an unhealthy vegetable that contains pesticides or harmful nitrates.

What fruits can be with pancreatitis?

If you have been diagnosed with pancreatitis, you should limit certain types of fruits from your diet. But even permitted fruits should be consumed with certain conditions:

  • allowed fruit can be eaten, but not more than one per day;
  • it is advisable to thermally process fruits or bake them before use;
  • fruits must be crushed or mashed;
  • juice from allowed fruits is very useful.

It should be completely excluded: apples (sour), cherry plums, plums, mangoes, peaches and citrus fruits.

All permitted fruits are best consumed boiled or baked in the oven. Bananas can be eaten raw, just like strawberries. Good effect on the pancreas freshly prepared juice from these fruits. The use of all fruits is not recommended during the moments of exacerbation of the disease. At least ten days later, you need to gradually introduce the allowed fruit into your diet.

What can not be eaten with pancreatitis?

With pancreatitis, the following foods should be completely excluded:

  • fatty meat and smoked meats: smoked sausage, kebabs, canned meat, goose meat and duck;
  • all kinds of smoked, fatty, salted fish: herring, sturgeon, mackerel, salmon, sprat, trout, fish caviar, salmon;
  • milk products: fatty cottage cheese, hard cheeses, ice cream, sweet curds in glaze, yogurts;
  • boiled and fried eggs;
  • sweet confectionery, pastries and chocolate;
  • fruits and vegetables from the prohibited list;
  • fatty fast food (fast food);
  • products containing various artificial additives, dyes, preservatives and flavorings;
  • fatty soups and broths on meat or bone.

From drinks should be excluded all carbonated water, as well as cocoa, chicory and coffee.

In order not to aggravate the disease and not irritate the pancreas, be sure to stick to a diet and completely eliminate dangerous foods.

Proper nutrition - what can you eat with pancreatitis?

If you follow proper nutrition with pancreatitis, you can live a normal full life and feel completely healthy. Of the products allowed to use:

  • fruits and vegetables are allowed, especially good in boiled or baked form, vegetable soups, casseroles, fruit purees, juices from fresh vegetables and fruits;
  • lean meat: veal, steamed cutlets from it and meatballs in soup;
  • low-fat fish: pollock, pike, cod, pike perch, boiled and baked fish, as well as fish steam cutlets;
  • products of dairy origin: low-fat kefir, fermented milk products without a high percentage of fat content, yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese from which it is good to cook dumplings and casseroles. Do not use sour cream and milk, as well as fatty cheeses;
  • cereals, pasta and cereals: very favorable food, especially porridge from oatmeal, rice, semolina, buckwheat. You can add a little oil (butter or vegetable) to pasta. Exclude wheat porridge and pearl barley from cereals;
  • bread: white, unsweetened pastries (not buns), biscuits. Do not eat black bread;
  • eggs: you can eat soft-boiled eggs, but do not exceed 2 eggs per week. Especially useful is the use of egg white;
  • sweets: it is not recommended to eat sugar itself, but for those with a sweet tooth there is an option to make jelly out of it, marshmallows or marmalade are also sometimes allowed, but in small quantities;
  • from drinks you can use weak tea, green tea and decoctions on useful herbs and rose hips are especially favorable. Juices, compotes and jelly from fresh fruits and vegetables are very useful. Therapeutic mineral water is also allowed for use for patients with a diagnosis of pancreatitis.
