Football field cake recipe

Combine sugar, sour cream and vanillin in a container, mix. Soak gelatin in water and leave to swell (about 10 minutes). After that, put on fire and, without bringing to a boil and stirring, wait for the grains to completely dissolve. Add gelatin in small portions to the sugar and sour cream mixture. Stir the mixture constantly throughout the process.

Cover the baking dish with cling film. Pour the mixture of sugar, sour cream and gelatin, smooth the surface. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Prepare the dough. Break eggs into a bowl, add sugar, beat lightly with a fork. Add sour cream to the egg-sugar mass. Mix thoroughly.

Sift flour, add to the dough together with baking soda, mix. Pour the cocoa powder into the dough. Stir and make sure that no lumps remain in the mass. Remove the filling from the refrigerator, remove it from the mold and return it to the refrigerator. Grease the mold with butter, pour the dough into it, level the surface. Place in an oven preheated to 170 degrees and bake until tender (about 25-30 minutes).

In the meantime, prepare the cream. Combine sour cream and sugar and grind until sugar dissolves. Prepare the mastic: chop the marshmallows, put in a metal bowl, pour in water. Melt the marshmallows in a water bath - keep the marshmallow slices on low heat until they are completely dissolved. Then remove from the water bath.

Add powdered sugar to the mixture and knead until it stops sticking to your hands. Also check that the figures from your mastic do not creep and keep their shape. As soon as the mass gets such a consistency, wrap it in plastic wrap and leave it for a while.
Use a rectangular baking sheet for baking and filling - the field will turn out to be realistic! Prepare the chocolate for striping and gate making. To do this, break the tiles into slices, put them in a tight plastic bag. Heat the water and dip the bag into it. Hold until chocolate is completely melted. Take a piece of paper. Draw a gate of the required size on it. Cover the paper with cling film.

Remove the bag of chocolate from the water, cut off the corner. Trace the outline drawn on the paper. Bend the fragment with the "roof" of the gate. Place this entire structure in the freezer and leave for at least 15 minutes. Leave some chocolate for marking.

Remove the crust from the oven, remove from the mold. Level the top - cut the mound with a sharp knife. Set aside the trimmings. Cut the finished cake in half lengthwise. While the baked goods are still hot, brush the cut side of both cakes with cream. Set aside some of the cream. Leave the cakes to soak at room temperature or let cool and refrigerate.

Do not be afraid to use a rolling pin for this: the mastic is very plastic, so you will not harm the coating. Cut off the pieces of coating that protrude beyond the cake with a sharp knife.

Mold figures of football players and roll the ball. Heat the rest of the white chocolate if necessary. Apply the markings to the field: borders, middle line, circle inside. Remove the gate from the freezer. Carefully remove them from the film and place them on the field. Place the figures of football players in their places. Preparing two cakes

We will make the "football field" from a rectangular sponge cake about 35 by 20 centimeters in size, but you can vary the size at your discretion. So:

  • bake one sponge cake;
  • cool it down and cut it in half;
  • now soak both halves of the cake with chocolate syrup, as shown in the master class;
  • prepare a thick creamy or butter cream with condensed milk, first layer the cakes together, hold them in the refrigerator for a bit so that they stick together properly;
  • after that, take out the workpiece, cut off the side uneven parts around the entire perimeter of the cake with a long sharp knife;
  • After leveling the football field, you can start grouting: mix the rest of the butter cream with the crumb, which you make from the scraps of dough, completely coat the cake with this mixture or just cream, level it with a wide knife, put the cake in the refrigerator to set.

Our "football field" is completely ready for further decoration, now you can start preparing the base for the ball cake:

  • prepare two semicircular iron molds, you can use ordinary bowls, grease them with oil and grind them a little with flour;
  • make a biscuit dough, you can leave it white or make it chocolatey using cocoa powder, as in our master class;

  • divide the resulting dough in half, pour into molds, bake two halves of the "ball";
  • after the dough has completely cooled down, cut a little from the bottom of one half (it will be the bottom) so that the ball is stable;
  • now lubricate the halves in the center with butter cream, press with your hands;
  • smear the entire "ball" with the same cream and put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes.

You have got 2 blanks, the first will be to decorate the cake in the form of a football field, at this time the blank in the form of a ball should be stored in the refrigerator.

Prepare the mastic - absolutely any mastic can be used here, you don't have to do any modeling, all the corners in our cake are smooth, so both gelatinous and regular milk will do. Make it in advance, pack it tightly in polyethylene so that the mass does not wind up.

We will make a football field as follows:

  1. Thoroughly roll out the mastic on the table, pour the gel dye into it drop by drop until the mass turns into an intense green color, reminiscent of the coating of a real football field.
  2. We transfer the cake to a special substrate, align it in the center.

  3. You can place a gate along the edges of the cake, they can be made in advance from white mastic, do not forget to grease them with cream or special gel at the base so that the gate does not fall.

Now you can start decorating the ball, it will only take a few minutes, especially if you make the blanks for it in advance:

  1. Remove the prepared round cake from the refrigerator.

  1. Roll out a large slab of white mastic, cut a small hexagon out of the cardboard. Using this stencil, we will cut out pieces to create the skin of the ball. The smaller the ball, the smaller the hexagon will be.
  2. Applying stencils of white mastic, we cut out several blanks, their number depends on the diameter of your sword, it is difficult to calculate, so it is better to do it with a margin.

  1. We paint the second part of the mastic with black dye, roll out the layer in the same way and cut out black blanks.
  2. Now we glue alternately white and black hexagons on a round cake to get the characteristic color of a real soccer ball. Do not forget to coat the back of each hexagon blank with gel, but if the cream is not dry yet, you can immediately glue the blanks to the surface of the round cake.

All that remains for us is to set the round ball on the field, having previously lubricated the junction with cream. Additionally, you can decorate the cake with figures of mastic football players, make a congratulatory inscription using cream and a pastry syringe with a thin nozzle, and also make a few more small mastic balls and place them around the edges of a large cake.   2. So, let's begin. Beat eggs with sugar using a mixer until a white thick foam forms.
  3. Add sour cream and a teaspoon of slaked soda to the eggs, beating without stopping, add melted butter.
  4. Continuing to beat, add the sifted flour and beat until a homogeneous mass is formed.
  5. Now we carefully divide our dough into two parts, pouring part into another dish, and add 2-3 tbsp. tablespoons of cocoa, and in the second the same amount of flour, mix. The dough is ready !!!
