Chips production technology: from harvesting to packaging
Chip production is complex technological process, which has its own nuances. Without taking them into account, it will be difficult to get the same product that people around the world love. The fact is that certain varieties of potatoes are used to make chips. There are 7 of them in total, and only 3 of them are grown in Russia. Such potatoes are denser in structure than usual, it contains less starch and sugar. That is why Lays chips do not fall apart when frying, but remain whole and crispy.
The process of producing chips from processing the tubers to obtaining the finished product takes no more than 30 minutes. First, potatoes coming from the fields are washed in a large drum, then they are peeled and cut into thin slices. Their thickness is no more than 2 mm. After that, the slices enter the deep fryer, where they acquire a special color and crunch. Now the chips need to be well dried and sent to the drum with fragrant spices. 3. Lays Strong chips. They have a wavy shape, which allows you to make the taste more saturated. These are chips for beer, which are created specifically for lovers of foamy drinks.
Each of the three types has its own range of flavors, allowing each customer to enjoy their favorite potato product.

It is the last component that carries some danger, since it contains salt, sugar, flavoring substances, flavor and aroma enhancers (monosodium glutamate, sodium guanylate, sodium inosinate), acidity regulators. I did not feel any aroma from the pack from the word at all.
And the chips look beautiful as always: ruddy, large and corrugated. Same as other Strong. I love corrugated ones - they are even more pleasant to eat, but for some reason not in this case ...

The taste is not revealed immediately, or is it probably correct to say that it is not revealed at all? called " find garlic in lays chips"- I never found it. Well, in the chips jelly with horseradish, the taste was rich and bright, just try it with your eyes closed and you will definitely say - well, jelly, and hell))
In other tastes, too, it was somehow more pronounced. And here you can feel the taste of some kind of seasoning, which disappears after 3 seconds, and spiciness remains in the aftertaste. Where is she from? What sharpness is not clear. I ate chili pepper, paprika, real garlic, or maybe mustard - I didn’t notice the difference.
Strong refers more to men's chips. And this is not only clear from the inscription "to beer". Although I would not say that all men like it hot. For example, my husband does not cheat on classic lays with green onions at all.
The other day I was in the supermarket Europe and saw there just such a "new pack-cup" Lays Young green onion. I had never seen such a package, even pictures, so I became curious whether it was a novelty or an old onion taste!
Of course, such a package is more expensive than usual - 115 rubles for 240 gr.
The design is slightly different from the Green Onion flavor, it is lighter and more pleasant.

As the manufacturer indicated, this pack has been modernized: for convenience, a special dotted line has been created along which you can easily tear off the top of the package. Now the pack has become wider and lower, just like a large bowl. It is really convenient to eat from it, it is much better because the hands do not get dirty up to the elbow!
The composition does not seem to differ at all from previous lays onion chips.
They smell and look identical to the old version ... and the taste seemed to me and my husband an exact copy of the usual green onion lace! Moderately salty, moderately spicy, few broken, not very brittle.
I came across a couple of spoiled ones, which is a rarity these days.
It remains a mystery to me why change the design, if you could just change the shape of the packaging. I think it's a ploy to increase sales.
Leys with "young" onions will also appeal to lovers of old onions =) In fact, this is the same thing!
